It was quite a year for Nike’s Future Sole Design Competition, as this year’s contest not only produced two amazingly talented winners in Austin Jermacans and Matthew DeAlmeida, but the competition also saw growth far surpassing everyone’s expectations just a year since the contest first debuted. For the first year, FutureSole.com enjoyed 50,000 hits throughout the project’s early summer to fall timeline, and this year the views skyrocketed to over 250,000 hits, largely thanks to the help of the community of sneaker blogs and websites that helped to spread the word.
As a thanks to its partners, Jordan Brand recently created this 55 pair run of the classic Air Jordan 1 High just for Friends & Family and those who participated in the program. With an off-white texturized upper, white collar and Swoosh and black and red hits found throughout, the shoe complements the official Future Sole tee and fits with most Jordan core Bulls-themed colors. Along the heel, the Future Sole logo is proudly displayed for all to see.
