Kobe Bryant will be the cover athlete for NBA 07 from Sony Computer Entertainment America. We held an event with Kobe last Friday at the Boys and Girls Club in Watts. While there, Kobe unveiled the cover art (notice the new number) for PS2 and PSP. (yes we will have something to say about PS3 very soon) Kobe took the time to play with the kids, answer questions and donate some product. It's also important to note that the court at the Boys and Girls Club could not be finished based on a lack of funds. Kobe heard about it and stepped in to make sure the court was finished for the kids.
Having only met Kobe in passing, I have to say that I came away impressed both by how he handles himself with the kids, but also by the fact that he was well spoken and happy to be there. A lot of athletes make appearances, far fewer seem to enjoy themselves. Speaking of enjoying themselves, I was certainly stoked when he signed both the Game 6 Playoff PEs and the Shox, but got a bigger kick out of his reaction when we gave him a pair of PlayStation AF1s.
