美國時間 2024 年 2 月 8 日，洛杉磯湖人隊在自家主場外舉行 Kobe Bryant 紀念銅像揭幕儀式，早在去年 8 月 24 日消息傳出後各方便開始猜測會用老大的哪個畫面來呈現呢？稍早答案已正式揭曉。

此座 8 號球衣時期的銅像所用的動作相信大家肯定不陌生，源自 Kobe Bryant 在美國時間 2006 年 1 月 22 日單場攻得 81 分的名場面，重現了末節比賽僅剩 4.2 秒時，他被換下場走回球員席途中舉起右手回應全場歡呼聲的時刻。
當年因 81 分紀錄之夜而「一戰成名」的白紫色 Nike Kobe 1 PE，也成為銅像的一部分；此配色曾在 2009 年以 Protro 型態公開發售，還記得 Nike 特別安排於 1 月 22 日這天開賣。

同時 Vanessa Bryant 也透露，Kobe Bryant 紀念銅像總共會有三座，今天揭曉的 8 號是其中之一，另外兩座為身穿 24 號球衣的版本以及和女兒 Giana Bryant 一起的模樣，但揭曉時程尚未確定。
