adidas gathered some of the best graffiti artists in the world to work together
on a totally original concept — a unique collection of footwear, apparel and
accessories that takes artwork from the sketchbook to the streets: the End to
End project. In the 1960s, teenagers began writing their names all over New
York. They were soon writing nicknames and pseudonyms as they discovered the
consequences of their actions. As outside spaces and subway carriages began to
fill up with their markings, the writers' developed individual styles to make
their artwork and names standout. Gradually the transit system became a
travelling canvas for all to see. From these beginnings, graffiti now exists in
pockets of culture all over the globe. The End to End project found writers with
a genuine approach to their work; artists embedded in the subculture, with
experience and creative talent. The seven chosen artists worked in a custom-
built environment to create an exclusive range of products. The End to End
collection combines their creativity, innovation and style without compromising
their credibility. The adidas Stan Smith Rime is a great representation of this
innovative collection. Known for continually pushing the limitations of
lettering, Graffiti Artist Rime's pieces are a combination of vivid colors,
cartoon style outlines and bold tags. As one of the most respected writers
working in the US, his graffiti artwork has influenced many other artists both
within and outside the graffiti world. The adidas Stan Smith Rime features a
printed leather upper, printed insoles, lace jewel and a translucent rubber
outsole with printed graphics.
